City of Redding Residential Electrification Assistance Program (REAP)

The Residential Electrification Assistance Program (REAP) is an income-eligible direct install program. The program provides electrification (fuel substitution) and applicable energy efficiency measure to income-qualified owners and renters residing in permanent Dwellings including single-family, multi-family, and mobile homes.

Key components of the program include:

• Remove fossil-fuel appliances and replace them with efficient electric equipment, including heat pump water heaters, heat pump space heating and cooling systems, induction cooktops, and heat pump clothes dryers.
• Includes eligible efficiency upgrades (for example, upgrading electric resistance equipment with heat pumps or induction technologies) to reduce energy consumption of existing electric equipment
• Supports electric vehicle ownership by providing cost-effective charging solutions
• Includes all income-qualified REU customers, including owners and renters residing in single-family and multi-family dwellings

Income Limits

This program is open to all income-qualified REU electric utility customers. For purposes of the City of Redding program, customers are considered income qualified if they meet any of the following requirements:

• Enrolled in Redding Energy Discount Program as indicated by recent (<90 days) utility bill
• Current participant in CSD LIHEAP
• Current participant in DOE WAP
• Current participant in the TECH program.
